About The Artwork

Mushin is the essence of Zen Buddhism and Japanese martial arts. Mushin literally means the “mind without mind”, and it is commonly called “the state of no-mindedness”. It is a state of mind where the mind is not fixed on or occupied by any thought or emotion and is thus connected to the Cosmos. This pure state of mind, of pure mental clarity, is produced by the absence of the ego or limited self. A Mushin mind is not an empty mind like an empty shell; on the contrary, it is a mindfully present, aware, and free. On this abstract painting you can see rich texture and nuanced mixing of blue color and warm gold circle. Big abstract painting, mixed media on linen canvas, gold leaves. Can be hanged without a frame. The size of the painting is 120x120 cm. Signed on the front and back. NB! To ship the canvas I remove it from the bars and ship it in the tube. When received you just have to take it to your local framers to get it stretched on the bars again.

For me, art is an urgent need, it helps me to empathize with the world. It accompanies me throughout life, from early childhood. In Art I see a way to express myself, or rather, to find Me through painting, it is very intimate and very personal feeling. Paints, brushes, canvases and pencils always surrounded me since early childhood. I find inspiration in color. Through color I can express the beauty of our world. One could see variety of flowers on my canvases. I have graduated from Art College and than I've got my Master of Arts at Latvian Art Academy.
