For the "Alien Garden" series I was inspired by Francis Bacon interpretations of Velazquez painting "Inocencio X". Fancis Bacon was inspired by the last pastel drawings by Edgar Degas, where he used vertical lines that Francis Bacon called "tabular construction" explaining that "this way the sensation does not reach us directly, but it flows slowly through the " cracks ". In my paintings, the image slowly flows along the lines of the barcode and gives the observer time to mentally complete the painting.
