ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the front cover of my book 'Myth and Utopia' published in 2012. The book is about the history of Peru and the many broken promises of political leaders to the Peruvian people in need. Still, this painting is about hope and the certainty that one day in the future, a world of equality and justice in harmony with nature is possible.

Every artwork is a love affair but I have a long-lasting love relationship with oil, tempera, and watercolour. I try to reconcile imagination, emotions, and feelings with reality, but I do not allow reality to constraint me. My art is influenced by the country I was born. Peru is a country full of colour and cultural variety, with a rich, diverse, and sometimes lacerating human landscape due to poverty. I paint abstract and figurative art including landscapes and portraits. My art workshop is in the historic centre of Lima and I also paint in the United Kingdom.
