Born in Stara Zagora, a city founded by Philip II of Macedon in 342 BC and the only Bulgarian city with a grid street plan, I have always been fascinated by maps. I hold a Master of Engineering in Cartography and Remote Sensing (RS). My destiny led me to “win the lottery” of receiving a Green Card (for permanent resident status in the US). Then fate sent me to Upstate New York where I have lived since 1998. Two of the maps I created are in the Tompkins County History Center in Ithaca. They were designed using GIS technology and exported to PDF format. It feels like the stars have aligned for me, making 2021 the year I am reinventing myself. I have acquired extensive knowledge and practical experience in modern mapmaking, and I continue to have a profound passion for the art of hand-drawn maps; my passion is seeking an outlet.
