Acrylic on map paper of NYC. This is a loosely painted multi-media cityscape of the city in the early morning. I drew from my thoughts, feelings and emotions, writing in pastel, drawing with ink and acrylic paint. My memories guided me through this expressive impression of the city.

FINE ART BY HILLARY GROSS Hillary Gross, a member of the Pastel Society of Florida, has exhibited her artwork in galleries in Florida, Virginia, and Washington, DC, including the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC, the Center for the Arts in Vero Beach, Florida, where her work is part of the Center’s permanent collection, and Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Newport News, Virginia, where she has won several awards in juried exhibitions. Hillary defines her approach to art as follows: In my work I seek to draw attention to the more subtle, tactile qualities of the world in which we live. These qualities are too often lost, in the busy, hectic, hi-tech, multimedia modernity in which we live. By appealing to both the literal and the abstract, my paintings allow my viewers to re-discover the joy of the natural world. Hillary Gross was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. Her interest in drawing and painting started at a young age, and Ms. Gross won numerous awards and attended prestigious art workshops in an around Virginia before graduating high school. After graduating high school Ms. Gross earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC. Hillary Gross joined Fine Art America on July 15th, 2009.
