ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nausicaä is a piece inspired by the tranquility and openness of the ocean. I drew a lot of inspiration from sumi-e and japanese artists for this 18x14 acrylic painting. I grew up in a coastal town and I wanted to convey the same sense of relief and calm I feel when I am near to the sea. The mix of deep blues and turquoise create a calming effect on the viewer and would be perfect for any coastal themed space in need of becoming a tranquil area. It is finished in a gloss varnish to enhance the visual of a glittering ocean.
