About The Artwork

This pour painting is one that I consider a ‘hybrid’; a combination of a pour painting that has also been manually manipulated. I've been doing a lot of these and experimenting with a variety of tools to manipulate the painting after the paint has been poured onto the surface. I first pour and spread a white layer on the entire surface. While still wet, I poured the magenta paint on and then used a palette knife to drag the paint into, over and across the surface. The types of paints, along with my custom blended paint medium interact with each other and create the various effects seen here. original is on a 6" x 6" wood panel. Made with acrylics, latex and resin.

Carla White of C. White Designs started off in 2000 with a variety of artistic and creative expressions, such as, jewelry design, hand painted greeting cards, hand painted furniture, and a line of aromatherapy products which included her own unique label and packaging designs. Her designs have also been published as a freelance artist by the greeting card company Design, Design, Inc. Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, but currently living in L.A., she is transitioning from functional art to fine art with a current exploration in Resin Art and Art Pours. Taking from the design elements present in her greeting cards, she is discovering how those translate onto larger pieces, as well as, exploring new and innovative ways to express her creativity with resin, wood, paints, inks and dyes. Her current pieces are a personal experimentation in color, line, space and movement. Each piece is a unique expression and provides endless details for the viewer to discover and enjoy.
