Contact us.Michael Khripin is a mixed media artist from Cyprus.
He is fascinated by the breathtaking views and beautiful nature surrounding his home in Limassol, a town on the southern coast of Cyprus. His paintings are an attempt to capture and share his observations and impressions of life on a Mediterranean island. He says, ''The series of my abstract works are a result of letting out the emotions and thoughts during meditation-like sessions, that serve as a form of therapy to help me keep feeling myself in the present moment.''
Michael is a mixed media artist who uses an array of materials in his work, including acrylic paint, pencils, pastels and even tea and coffee.
He works very intuitively and fluidly to bring life to raw, authentic emotions. Painting with acrylics, he incorporates acrylic paint, pen, oil pastel, caran d'ache and whatever else he can get his hands on. Working layer upon layer, always listening to reggae music, he's trying to let go of critical thinking, preferring to let his subconscious run the paintbrush. He hopes to inspire and affect people on a deep emotional level with his abstracts.
Recent artworks are created using the most advanced digital tools that help Michael to channel deepest inner states of mind. So the same then applies to the viewer, surprised by the artwork feeling different at any given moment.
He has spent his life as an artist, continually practising and developing his craft. His training began at a school of fine arts, and he developed his drawing skills at Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design. He enjoys participating in exhibitions and recently showed his work at Sneak Peek Multispace, Nicosia, Cyprus and Art Studio 55, Limassol, Cyprus
