ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ariel, the little mermaid, as an illustration. This depicted a faceless figure because she lost her identity after the trade of her beautiful one-of-a-kind voice for a pair of human legs. She looked enormous compared to her kingdom, as her ego was larger than anything. And on the surface, it was just the passing ship that she sees... I was inspired by the animated movie and the album 'Nemesis' by Bridget Mendler to make this work. Acrylic, charcoal, and chalk on paper.
