The painting "New Night" portrays a landscape depicted with vibrant oil colors applied using a palette knife technique. The sky is depicted as dark and powerful, with trees separating the fields from distant mountains. The earth below features vivid yellow vegetation, including grass, flowers, and foliage. The artist, motivated by a desire to evoke a sense of mystery and renewal, meticulously crafted this piece to invite viewers into a world of exploration and transformation. The deliberate use of bold and intense colors aims to capture the dramatic atmosphere of a new night, where the landscape is bathed in the mystical glow of darkness. The contrast between the dark sky and the bright yellow vegetation creates a sense of tension and anticipation, drawing viewers into the scene. Executed with layers of thick paint applied with deliberate strokes, the artwork captures the texture and dynamism of the landscape. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to the painting, enhancing its visual impact and creating a sense of depth and movement. "New Night" seeks to evoke feelings of wonder, curiosity, and the thrill of exploration. The artist hopes that viewers will feel inspired to embark on their own journey of discovery and renewal, finding beauty and excitement in the unknown. Through this piece, the artist aspires to ignite a sense of adventure and possibility, encouraging viewers to embrace change and embrace the new opportunities that each night brings. This artwork was created as a celebration of the beauty and mystery of the night, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its enchanting atmosphere and embrace the endless possibilities of a new beginning.

Jelena Vragović was born in Vršac, Serbia in 1973. She is a member of ULUS and ULUPUDS. She had independent exhibitions in Belgrade, Vršac, Pančevo, Novi Sad, Kučevo, Dimitrovgrad, Arilje, and Niš. Furthermore, she has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and art colonies in Serbia and abroad. Her art consists of landscapes and figure paintings and has received a plethora of rewards throughout the years. Old Greeks treated the female nude paintings as passive beauty while the male nude paintings were presented in action and seen as the embodiment of gods themselves. Erotic female bodies are seen as objects, while erotic male bodies are treated as a sacrifice of epic existence. Erotic male nude paintings seem to have remained the last taboo – they are rarely painted and thus I wish to bravely offer my perception of the topic. The paintings are an act of rebellion against the world that is asleep, resembling an epic scream and action that we gave up on.
