ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Horse themed painting that was partly inspired by Franz Marc and Odilon Redon. Mainly charcoal with highlights picked out in white pastel. The feelings I wanted to convey were mood and drama using a loose expressive style. The horses are situated in a moorland landscape. Someone advised me against putting too much colour into it which I think was the right choice. Done on mid-blue pastel paper

I paint in many media but oils and watercolours are my favourites. My favourite artists are Monet and Degas. I have been very influenced by impressionism and mainly work in this style.
