Sonja Bela was born and raised in Serbia and after her formal undergraduate education she has received her BFA from the Bucharest National University of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. She has had both group and solo exhibitions at galleries in Bucharest, Romania, Pancevo and Belgrade, Serbia. In my work as an artist, I am fascinated by variety of subjective views and the nature of reality since childhood. I like to visually explore possibilities of other viewpoints, perspectives, human potential and its impact on the whole. Inspired by people who manage to influence positive change in other people’s lives, I am dedicated to intuitively inspire inner joy and compassion through beauty, color and playfulness. I have spent many years working and travelling near seas, collecting ideas and inspiration. In addition to my work as an artist, I am a student in yogic and Buddhist traditions, exploring the nature of reality and human mind. My major influences range from American art and artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat to Himalayan and Asian art.
