ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Our society is all about communication. Television is still a very powerful a mean of communication. In this painting I substitute the head of the chicken with an old television. The message I wanted to give is that we really need to ask ourselves what kind of influence media has on us, in some cases the results could be really explosive... the time has come to think for ourselves and to limit the influence of the mass media. Turn off the television and read a book!

Mazezky is a contemporary artist whose journey began amidst the vibrant streets of London between 2009 and 2011. With a penchant for graffiti and stencil techniques, Mazezky made a deliberate shift, bringing the raw energy of street art into the meticulous realm of their studio. Here, Mazezky embarked on a creative exploration, seamlessly melding the expressive flair of graffiti and street art with the timeless elegance of classical styles. Mazezky's canvas comes alive through the vivid interplay of acrylics, oils, and spray colors. These immediate and versatile mediums serve as the perfect conduits for their artistic vision, mirroring the simplicity of Mazezky's primary color palette, a symphony of primary hues. Mazezky's art delves into the core of compelling themes that resonate deeply—love, irony, dreams, pollution, and the stark realities of capitalism's façade. Over time, abstract expressionism has become the hallmark of Mazezky's creations, intertwined with a potent streak of conceptualism, aimed at eliciting thought-provoking reactions from those who engage with their work. In 2020, Mazezky embarked on a thrilling collaborative venture with LOPE, a talented painter hailing from Navarra. Together, they birthed the Equipo MALO project, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression, seamlessly merging the contrasting realms of street art and refined studio craftsmanship. Beyond creative pursuits, Mazezky embraces the responsibility to leave behind a visual testament to their journey on this planet. As a gesture of commitment, Mazezky pledges to donate 5% of earnings from each artwork sale to the UN World Food Program, contributing to its invaluable mission.
