About The Artwork

Acrylic on linen mounted on vinyl record. Paintings grouped in 3 chapters on a common subject, "the summer vacations". During the winter of 2020 the population was still confined. I conceived this series as an escape from the daily routine of confinement, a kind of extension of the summer vacations of the previous years but which would last forever. The painting is laminated on a 33 vinyl record. The title of each painting refers to a song listened during its realization or to the title written on the vinyl record.

My artistic approach focuses on the representation of memories and recollections, mainly using paint on canvas and paper. I explore themes such as the passage of time and the effect of color on emotions. My style is characterized by its reality, its graphics, its vivid colors, its dreamlike, nostalgic and poetic aspect. My main source of inspiration comes from photos I take personally, from memories and vacations, but also from photos of unknown people I find on social networks. These moments in life are transposed onto canvas. Portraits, bathing scenes, solitude and memories of personal significance that have influenced my career are recurring themes in my work. By using social and cultural contexts in my work, I seek to convey the memory of my time, to leave a reminder of my daily life and that of unknown people.
