Nocturne Print

This painting was inspired by the image of a friend sitting in my sofa, staring at the front and resting her arms on her knees, with her legs partially opened, in a way I found seductive but at the same time, careless of that sex appeal and self-confident. I painted a first version of that moment using my friend as model, completely dressed, which is called Violet interior, and years later I tried a new version without clothes, that suited best that intention of neglectful attractiveness. I wanted the image to suggest that the model has been captured in a moment of intimacy, o time devoted to herself. In this case, the model and suicide girl Lorena Blaze posed for the painting. Despite I needed some realism to achieve the image I remembered, I did not want the painting to look entirely like a photograph, so I tried to preserve some unfinished look in some parts, while working more accurately in other details that are relevant for my idea, like the glass of wine and the tattoos. This painting is part of a series dealing with female intimacy and erotic desire, on which I try to give a female perspective.
