ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is Door County's Eagle Bay in Ephraim, Wisconsin. The wind was howling out of the north causing the boats to bob in the water like giants corks. I set up on a very windy south beach and painted for 3 hours hanging on to the easel with one hand painting with the other. I was so engrossed in the painting that I never noticed that the arm holding the easel was in great discomfort, so at the finish it was so stiff I could hardly move it. The boats would be pushed around so much I had to wait for them to return to the position I wanted to resume painting. In addition, due to the wind, I'm sure there's some of that beach sand in the painting.
