Painting seascapes, to me is about capturing the energy and stillness all at once in a painting, and, in such a way that the art is the energy, the very manifestation of that incredible experience. Nowhere is the wonder of creation so evident than the ocean, there in the searing white of foam crashing and waves hissing back out. It is the artist’s work to breathe it in and channel it into the work so that some of that it communicates to people. I spend as much time as I can travelling the coasts and hiking with family and, this is the source of all my inspiration to paint these scenes.
