"Olokun-the secrets of deep" Painting

My art is born from a profound duality and from my homeland. I am originally from Zacatecas, a region forged by mineral and artistic wealth, whose inhabitants are said to have 'bodies of quarry stone and hearts of silver.' I carry within me that fusion: the rigor of engineering and the inescapable passion for human expression. Although my training as a Mining Engineer provided me with a structured and precise vision, I always found a growing need to explore something deeper, something more alive: the soul of the individual. My work is an obsessive quest for portraiture, the only genre that allows me to capture that complex inner geology that defines a person. Each canvas is an encounter, an immersion to unearth not the metal, but the emotion, the unexpressed thought, and the story hidden behind the eyes. My purpose is not merely to paint a face; it is to invite the viewer into an intimate conversation with a soul that, through light and shadow, reveals itself as a mirror of their own.
