I am an Italian artist, born in southern Italy. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (Painting), where I graduated in the early 1990s. Always interested in art and its languages, and a lover of artistic experimentation, I have also attended various courses in Graphic Design and Editorial Illustration. I have been painting since my time at the Academy and exhibiting since around the early 2000s. Over the years, I have participated in various competitions, group exhibitions, and organized solo shows. Regarding my painting, in the past I have explored various themes, such as portraits, figures, countryside landscapes (which I later called "Horizons"), and urban landscapes. In my painting, many aspects of reality attract my attention, and generally, starting from these, I develop a series of works inspired by those specific themes. When designing a piece, I often use photography; the latter can appear in the work itself, in installations, or even inspire it. In my paintings, I generally try to reach what I consider "the essence," understood not only as form or immediacy of expression, but also as "Interiority." This exploration of interiority inspired the works I later called "Interiors." This title, in fact, conveys to the viewer that my intent is to go beyond the visible, almost as an invitation to linger in a "different" space, a more evocative and mysterious place where interiority matters greatly. In my paintings, I prefer to use a palette knife (as well as a brush), and I use even large palette knives, depending on the work and the effect I want to achieve. I generally paint on canvas with oil paints, but I have also used acrylics or other materials. My works vary in size, but I prefer large-scale paintings. The "Horizons" series, for example, consists of very large canvases: in my opinion, the size of the work is also part of the final effect I have in mind.
