About The Artwork
As a history buff I wanted to depict the sinking of the biggest and most powerful battleship of WW 2 The Yamato from the Japanese POV. Operation Ten-Go was essentially a kamikaze mission to beach the battleship on Okinawa to prevent the U.S. forces from securing a beach head on the island in April of 1945. It took 386 aircraft over a two-hour period to send the most heavily-armed and armored battleship ever built to the bottom of the sea.
