From a young age I've always known that my creativity was a force that guided me. In my early twenties, I embraced this call to Art as a self-taught oil painter, but my journey took a detour as I delved into the world of graphic design, a realm where I honed my skills and forged a successful career over two decades. To me, art isn't just about self-expression; it encapsulates the essence of humanity and informs the very fabric of existence. This holistic perspective permeates every facet of my life, shaping a lifestyle driven by creative exploration and innovation. From interior design, garden design, architecture, painting and writing, I find fulfilment in diverse avenues of expression. The environment I inhabit and the way I choose to live my life serves as the very foundation upon which my artistic expression rests. Within the confines of my studio, where ideas converge, I find myself immersed in the tangible realities of everyday existence. It is here, that I channel my creativity into the realm of Realism and Surrealism, (my outer and inner worlds)—for the time being anyway. In my artistic practice, I adhere to the principle that to truly innovate and "break the rules," one must first possess a deep understanding and mastery of those very rules. Realism, with its dedication to portraying the world as it is, provides me with a solid framework from which to explore and challenge conventional boundaries. My endeavours in Surrealism are anchored in the power of storytelling through the painting process. Each painting I create has a narrative woven with intricate threads of emotion and meaning. Whilst my Surrealism paintings serve as windows into intricate narratives, my two published books serve as elucidations on the language of art, offering a personalized perspective for clarity and understanding. Art, to me, is an ongoing journey—a dynamic process through which I engage with and interpret the world around me. Painting is a personal exploration, a reflection of my current state of being and perception. As I continue to evolve and grow, I remain open to the endless possibilities that lie ahead. While I may be rooted in Realism and Surrealism for now, I am keenly aware that artistic expression is fluid and ever-changing. The beauty of this life journey lies in its unpredictability, its ability to surprise and inspire, guiding me towards new horizons of creativity and self-discovery.
