About The Artwork
This is an oil painting of Poppies in a black Chinese vase sitting on an orange table. This is one of a series of Eastern influenced paintings. I love their colours in their silks and artifacs. It is painted mainly in purples, deep blue, oranges and reds. There is a reflection of the poppies in the mirror to the left which I wanted to include as it fitted the composition of the painting and gave it a sense of depth. I enjoy the freedom of still life paintings as I can explore the colours and semi abstract feel. This is a large painting with vivid colours and will brighten up any room. It is painted on a deep edge canvas , strung and ready to hang.

My childhood was spent in Sussex where I developed a love of the rolling hills and country side. After Art college I moved to London where I continued painting. I discovered pastel painting a few years ago which I love for its brilliant pure colours. I found the light and rich colours of the South of France could be caught using using this medium. After visiting New York, where I had an exhibition , I was very interested in the awesome buildings and am currently painting a series of cityscapes of New York and London.Patricia is influenced by the French Impressionists.Working in oils and pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France.Patricia was recently made a member of the Society of Women Artists.
