ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the painting, "Our Lady of the Burning Bush," I have depicted the Virgin Mary who, like the miraculous bush, was overshadowed by the Most High but was not consumed. I like to paint apocalyptically once in a while because it speaks of a time outside of time, the eternal Now. I hope this painting serves as a portal to prayer and contemplation. I referenced the lovely Renaissance painting "Madonna of the Dry Tree" by Petrus Christus as a model for the Virgin and Child but the landscape came from my inner vision.
