My art education is mainly autodidactic. I have explored and expressed my creativity over the years through many mediums such as glass blowing, pottery, textiles, photography, music and computer generated art. I am presently focusing on large abstract painting. My method of execution is predominantly spontaneous, and impulsive. Sometimes it is primal, sometimes conceptual. The artwork evolves through a process of improvisation, experimentation, revision and intuition. A perpetual dialogue between color and movement, line and gesture, hesitation and decision. In some works I revel in bold symbolic colors that exhibit an assumptive aesthetic. Alternatively, in others, I strive to achieve subtle complexities, radiance, nuance and depth, that are nonrepresentational and nonverbal. Resulting in atmospheric abstractions of emotion and feeling. My painting is an attempt at the absolute...the product of natural manifestations. It is creation of something out of nothing. A step taken away from what is obvious, yet remaining radically natural. I try to connect with the origin and nature of the creative impetus and in doing so wrestle with the implicit issues of absolute freedom, and the problem of choice. Creation holds the ability to reveal the creator...and enables the creator to know themselves through their creations. My art strives to communicate at a deeper level; a place where we are all connected.
