Giorgia Melagrana is an Italian artist and model born in Fano in 1990 and resident in Dubai since 2023 where she founded her Art Studio. She obtained a diploma in visual art and then graduated from DAMS in Bologna, department of art, music and entertainment. She started painting with acrylic paints because of the fast drying that this medium has. She is an instinctual and vibrant painting, over the years her work has evolved, he has worked with resin, glue, acrylic powders and plastic, but his distinctive trait remains the use of acrylics and the construction of layers of color that create deep and material textures. The works of the last period are characterized by the use of natural powders such as iron oxide, malachite powder, charcoal. Her art has a strong temperament, but at the same time it is spiritual and profound. Her main source of inspiration is nature, the ocean her great love, water her element. The color blue and its different shades accompany most of his canvases in infinite combinations of shapes and nuances. Blue is the color of the sky and the sea, the color of infinity. According to Giorgia, the love that fades personal and social boundaries and barriers is also infinite. We are what we decide to be, we are the limits we decide to embrace, we have the power to create our world because the universe is always in our favor, if we are grateful to it. In the concept of art, Giorgia includes the practice of meditation as a form of self-knowledge. Art is a means of communication and is an alternative means to words. Painting, colouring, drawing are an excellent practice for bringing out hidden parts of us and this is why in recent years art therapy has taken up an increasingly larger space among Giorgia’s insights. Art therapy is a discipline that embraces art and psychology and that we can use as a mindful activity to connect to ourselves, relax, distract ourselves from the chaos of everyday life and reconnect to our own rhythm.
