About The Artwork
The Mr. Rogers series began with this quick sketch. The series was conceived and executed in a two-week time frame for an art show at a chocolatier in Wichita, Kansas. When the owner asked for me to exhibit, I realized I wanted to do something different - so, instead of selling the art at the show, I challenged the community to volunteer to the charity of their choice for an opportunity to win paintings in a drawing. All told, I created more than 40 unique paintings and hand-built photo emulsion prints with mixed media all focused on Mr. Rogers. To me, Fred Rogers epitomizes all that is good in humanity, and is someone I profoundly admire.
