His artistic research is developed around the interaction of light and form on the plane using different materials to create a geometric, abstract and volumetric work. Tola, trained as an architect, has achieved his own style, working with the possibilities that with paper and spray paint allows.
The work has only two variables, paper and spray. The paper is wrinkled and folded, in that state it is painted, and finally it is ironed. With this process, the work transmits all the manipulation of the paper, capturing all of paper uniques characteristics in an instant, like a photograph of abstract topology.
Tola's work expresses an objective reality, it is crumpled and folded paper. It is what it is, volume and light and shows the whole process, in an extremely honest and simple way in its execution it can reveal an infinite complexity inside.
