David Ortiz "Big Papi" was instrumental in the 2004 season and snapping the 86 year Babe Ruth curse. Bringing a World Series to Boston for the first time since 1918. Baseball is poetic at times. When the Red Sox were down 3-0 to Yankees in the AL Championship Series they did something no other team had ever done, to come back and win. Game 5 & 6 were captained by Big Papi game winning hits! Then they swept the Cardinals in the World Series. For me, this was surreal, as I knew I was witnessing a big deal in Baseball history.
