"Party at Fisherman's Bastion" (2020)

 In June 2019, I visited Budapest for the first time, and one of the most visually inspiring sights was the Fisherman’s Bastion. During medieval times, there used to be thick castle walls here, meant to protect the Buda castle and the city atop Castle Hill from numerous sieges then. Some historians believe that this segment of the walls was protected by the guild of fishermen who lived under the walls and sold their fish at the fish market up in the castle. The Bastion was constructed at the turn of the 20th century as a communal panorama terrace for locals to enjoy the view. Its fairy-tale-like look is meant to invoke a romantic recall of the old times, and “feel like history”. As I explored the walls and lookout towers, I imagined the Bastion to be a place where residents of Castle Hill gathered to celebrate special occasions during times of peace. Thus this illustration celebrates the love and joy of a community who support and care for one another.

 - This imaginative illustration is hand-drawn using watercolor, ink and color pencil. 
- The illustration will be shipped without the frame. You may choose how you would like it framed on your own. 
- All original artworks are hand-signed on the front and back by myself, and comes with a certificate of authenticity that is also hand-signed.

 - This original illustration will ship out within 24-72 hours of payment.
 - Illustration is rolled, wrapped in plastic sheet, and sent in a hard cardboard tube.

 - Each illustration is described, photographed and depicted as accurately as possible. However, due to variations in individual PC monitor hues, it’s impossible for all pieces to look the same on every computer monitor.
