ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is part of a series of seven paintings created with a very limited palette of yellows, orange and crimson with some brown. The white spaces are deliberately maintained to create an atmosphere of openness and interest. The series is inspired by the thought of combining a realistic approach with a touch of abstraction. The painting has a rustic, historic touch to it with the distant figures adding an imaginative storyline to it. It is done on Indian handmade, cotton fiber paper using artist grade colors.
