The inspiration for writing this work was the legendary Ukrainian symbol - the Patron Dog. Modern Ukrainian culture depicts him as a brave playful dog, capable of demining fields. Patron the dog has become somewhat of a pop art in Ukraine. I decided to reimagine this wonderful dog as a two-headed monster born in Chernobyl. Why exactly in Chernobyl? The name "Patron" means a cartridge, that is, a bullet from a gun or projectile. In the Ukrainian language, the word "patron" echoes the word "proton", namely "proton" - (from the Greek. προτώμον - the first) is a stable positively charged elementary particle of the atomic nucleus of any chemical element. Thus, the play of Ukrainian words and symbols of Ukrainian heroism and the Chernobyl tragedy echo in the work.

My name is Yasya Volkova, my fans know me under the pseudonym "ratroik", and it so happened that the drawing chose me, not I chose the drawing. I am a self-made artist, I have been painting all my adult life, starting with A4 paper, ending with digital art and large canvases. I have extensive experience in various art forms, including animation and music. My style belongs to expressionism and abstractionism, because I mostly live by emotions, and art for me is a reflection of my feelings, searching for myself and experiencing the world around me. All my works had the function of releasing me from heavy feelings, fear, anxiety, losses and gains. In my works, I often raise difficult social issues such as war, mental health, psychological and physical trauma, the search for truth, the balance between the end and the beginning, death and life. However, the foundation of my work has been and will be my own reflections and my own reflection of experiences, internal mental processes and mental defense. I recognize the unconscious through the prism of colors. Drawing helped me cope with mental illness and became a part of my psychotherapy, as it has been throughout my life. So now I am ready to share with the audience, experts, art lovers from all over the world the foundation of my life - creativity! Thank you for looking at my profile!
