Phoenix Rising Print

Working alone in my studio during Lock-down I was not badly affected by Covid19 but watching the news on TV it was apparent that the immediate future would be different. Much of society has been damaged: businesses that were unable to make a profit: people who were anxious and many who had lost jobs. It seemed that we must look to a new dawn and the story of the phoenix arising from the ashes seemed appropriate and very positive as we look to the future, hoping that the changes will be for the better. This work is created with acrylics and palette knife, together with brushes to extend the boundaries. The flames and fire were created by applying raw paint to the canvas and spredaing this like butter or scrapping right back to the canvas. The edge of the pallete knife build up the expression of the phoenix, wings fluttering above the heat of the flames and embers. I want you to be positive about the future, whatever your current situation. No hanging hardware is included but this painting can be hung direct or frames to your choice.
