My name is Alina Buslova, but I sign my works as Birdie — a name that carries my longing for flight, freedom, and gentleness. I was born in a small town in southeastern Ukraine, where the rhythm of village life, the language of birds, and the silence of fields shaped my senses. My roots are interwoven: Greek traditions from my mother’s side, Ukrainian landscapes from my father’s — and always, the cooing of doves overhead. From a young age, I found refuge in creation: drawing, crafting, dancing. I studied finance, but my heart was elsewhere. Life led me through many skies — as a flight attendant, I touched the clouds, but only when I began to paint again did I feel truly grounded. My mission is simple and silent — to remind people of tenderness. Through watercolor, I try to capture moments that speak without shouting, to hold beauty as a whisper in a noisy world. Art, for me, is not a product — it is a quiet gesture of care, a return to the essential, a way to listen. Now, I walk forward with the belief that creating is healing — for myself, and, I hope, for those who pause to feel.
