This particular work of art is a little delicate for me. That's why it was so important to create it. In a world where, since I can remember, I've been aesthetically charged to meet standards that, whether impossible or not, have never been mine. I am me, she is her, and we are what we are. I believe that criticizing certain standards of beauty and existence is only the beginning of true freedom. The day I created this work I released my beloved inner child and said: "You are free to be and look whatever you want. Today I set you free." So I decided to paint about the nonsense that is the fact that pink is defined as feminine and so much other nonsense that is imposed on girls and women around the world. Barbie, I'm looking at you! Get out of this damn bubble and stop dragging us into it with you. That's what this is about. Work created with PVA paint, acrylic paint, oil pastel chalk, permanent pen and spray paint. This artwork was part of my first solo exhibition "Xarpi Manifesto" in November 2023 in the city of Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro.
