ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Forging a connection to the present world with the processes she uses to make her paintings, she also dreams about a future inhabited by synthetic organisms. In addition to her paintings, Joy also uses a plastic material to make small circles she refers to as cells to create ‘synthetic wonders’. Utilizing the aesthetics of glass, she creates sculptures that capture the imagination of adults who can’t help but to reach out and touch them.
