ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a portrait of and old friend. I worked from an old scratched Polaroid - of a night out at Don Hills in Manhattan. I of course placed scared protective knots on the painting as in the olden days - to ward off or tangle evil. The knots are chosen by rolling dice. Then I roll two more times to decide where the knot form will be placed in the composition. It's on reclaimed wood from a prop shop in Greenpoint Brooklyn. I used my saliva and mixed it with pigments and acrylics to produce this painting. I'm looking twist things and quirt lemon in the viewer's eyes. To spur a mental eye rub. Loui A. Terrier
