ABOUT THE ARTWORK
From approximately 1927 through World War II, the Nazi Regime confiscated, banned and destroyed artwork that they felt to be Entartete Kunst, or “Degenerate Art”. Artists who created works labeled as “Degenerate” were removed from their jobs, banned from free creative expression, and prevented from exhibiting or producing their art. The Degenerate Series is a collection of Portraits and Original Compositions done in oil which serve to acknowledge and honor the great art and artists affected by the Nazi Regime.
