This painting is reflection on ongoing issues of climate crisis, racism and on people fighting for they rights, health and freedom. This painting includes two big protests that happened in London in 2019, Extinction rebellion and protest against President Trump visiting Britain. Artist here is embracing protests and people fighting for freedom, healthy future and Mother Earth. It’s important to remember that if you don’t exercise your rights you will more likely lose them. As of living in democratic country people should have they say. Figures in the painting are real people from Extinction Rebellion protests in London. Zarzycka want everyone to remember how many people came together to fight for great cause and that we should continue to do so. Anyone who can recognise themselves is welcome to pop the message :)

Katarzyna Zarzycka is London based contemporary artist with Polish nationality. Works mainly in acrylic and oil paints. She has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland, finishing with bachelors degree. She chose Optical Arts as her diploma subject, what pushed her interests towards visual perception and deepened her curiosity in science. She puts together her love for art, interests in science and human mind. Her art is not obvious and it can appeal to the beholder in many different ways, creating very new, unique vision. She is passionate about psychology, what you can observe in her works, very often making reference to life, human mortality, population and it’s decisions, people blindly following one another, worlds events. She rally around social behaviours. Her art can be cynical, harsh, irreverent and surreal. In her works she envision a portrait alike figures within abstract, surreal or pop art elements, often trying to confront different styles, like in eclecticism. Sometimes she puts two contradictory subjects together. Zarzycka often uses vivid colours in her works. She works gradually on her paintings, layering paint thinly, often changing direction while creating.
