About The Artwork

The picture shows a square package in a black plastic bag, which I received by online shop by mistake. We always look forward to postal parcels with interest, because they come with a certain surprise and feeling of unknownness. We don't know what's inside before we open it, and maybe we'll get something we haven't ordered. Despite expectations, we do not always get what we want, but something else. As this pandemic crisis came unexpected. During the quarantine, many were able to sell, buy and send parcels via post machines - so people got what they needed and communicated with others contactless. Such care for other basic needs in the current economic situation can be compared to the concept of Malevich's "Black Square", the basic form of existence. This painting is multilayered. Beneath the image of package there is hidden one more surprise-painting which can be discovered only with scientific examination. However, some fragments of this hidden painted layer is visible though the white primer.

Shipping & Returns

I use a mix of techniques to create my paintings. I am interested in the aesthetics of hidden, undiscovered and often invisible matters. I consider/examine personal experience, feelings and involvement in the context of historical and social events in order to find opportunities for transformation and adaptation to new living conditions. I engage with social subjects such as power, stateless status, migrations, integration, assimilation, consumption, female issues and also rituals, traditions and the ghosts of the past, inhabiting and hacking our current state of affairs.
