About The Artwork

A tangle of weeds and thorns across the bottom of the painting lead upwards to reveal a piece of clay being formed by a potter's hands. We are the clay in God's hands, being guided and transformed throughout our lives in ways we can't achieve on our own. "This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 'Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.' So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, 'Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?' declares the Lord. 'Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.' " (Jeremiah 18:1-6 NIV)

I was born in 1980 and live in Crystal Beach Ontario Canada. I have enjoyed living in the Niagara region for the last 15 years, and have been painting in acrylic and oil on canvas for 25 years. I want my paintings to remind viewers to enjoy the natural world, and experience hope and healing through a lyrical realism. I play an active role in the local community by leading art camps for children, and instructing weekly drawing and painting classes for all ages and abilities. Many of my paintings are created before live audiences at various community events. I am also increasingly well known throughout the Niagara region for public mural projects for the cities of Welland and St. Catharines, and for an increasing number of institutions and businesses.
