About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by my deep connection to prayer, which serves as a conduit to the inner voice of the Divine where all the answers lie.

I have pursued a varied artistic path as a visual artist, art furniture designer, singer/songwriter, and teacher of yoga and meditation for many decades. Since 2002, I have been creating functional art with one-of-a-kind hand-hammered metal tables and custom, sculptural wood tree tables. Clients include Ralph Lauren internationally, Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrum, as well as high-end designers and collectors in the USA, Europe, The Philippines, Thailand, Australia, and the Seychelles Islands just to name a few. My sculptural wood tables have been represented by major design showrooms from Beverly Hills to Palm Springs, and displayed by high-end retail stores throughout the state, across the USA and internationally. As a visual artist, I have been painting for four decades, with commissioned portraits that hang in private collections nationwide. I enjoy working with both acrylic and oil in my works on canvas. I use both watercolor and ink with my works on paper. My first love is portrait painting, as I am both intrigued by the human face and challenged to capture the subject's emotional and soul expressions on canvas. I also love figurative work which brings the entire body into focus for expression. My inspirations include Lucian Freud, Chuck Close, Colin Davidson, John Singer Sargant, Cezanne, Rembrandt. I am mainly self-taught and have also learned so much from my many professional artist friends, especially my late husband, a gifted, fearless and successful artist of many mediums. I have studied formally through various workshops and teachers to explore technique, color and composition, and to better "see" by utilizing both my inner and outer vision. I currently divide my time between homes in northern Tennessee and southern New Jersey, but also lived in Los Angeles for two decades, where my artistic creativity was greatly inspired and developed. I hail from southern New Jersey, where my roots still grow! Currently, my focus has returned mainly to painting in both portraiture, figurative and abstract expressions. I work with oil and acrylic on canvas, and I am exploring watercolor and ink mediums on paper. My sculptural wood tables are still in high demand.
