ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Protea is a wild flower that grows in the Western Cape of Southern Africa. It is so beautiful and typical of the kind of hardy plant that grows in this area, that it is the national flower of South Africa and appears on many denominations of stamps with a profusion different varieties of the same family. It grows on a big bush and the flowers are extremely large - about 25 to 30 cm across. I love this flower because it reminds be of where I grew up. A dried protea will last forever as an interior decoration or other art form.

I draw a lot of inspiration from the landscape, and flowers around me - I am a great lover of nature.
