ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This still life piece was done from life observation in the alla prima technique. I was inspired to paint the produce from my father’s fields, since these vegetables were in season. I really liked the vibrancy of the orange in the pumpkin and the texture of the inside part with the seeds. I tried to depict this fascination in my composition. This piece is the twin of another piece called butternut squash and pumpkin which I did in the same manner. Together they may make interesting pieces for a kitchen.

Born on the 31st August, 1981 and is from Qormi, Malta. Art is her passion! She is fascinated by colours and the harmony they bring into a composition. Oil is her favourite medium, however she loves painting with acrylic, watercolours and also with soft pastels. She derives inspiration mostly from nature. Whilst painting in her studio she prefers to work with some inspiring musical pieces by various artists namely Ludovico Einaudi which is her favourite, but also Andrea Vanzo and Hans Zimmer. This creates the perfect mood as she shuts off from the outer world and immerses herself into the magical world of art.
