I chose to paint these items because they represent childhood and the variety of object shapes (rounded and cubed) and surface textures (highly reflective and non-reflective) represent the complexities inherent in what seems to be a simple stage of life. The distorted reflections in the piggybank also reveal a small self-portrait of the artist.
