This is a triptych, and can be framed as one whole image or three separate images. Inspiration comes from roof tops crammed together in a colourful juxtaposition of shapes in India which lent itself to already looking abstract. I particularly noticed the angles of each roof top and the relationship it had with the one next to it. After painting on the oils and leaving to almost dry I then sand the painting and use white spirit to remove any paint that wants to be taken off, after cleaning up the areas it reveals itself.

Working in that uncertain realm between thoughts and feelings. Producing mixed media work in the form of materialistic enquiry and working from memory. Finding ways to bring feelings into existence, derived from observation and experiment. The art produced is a unique form of expression, embedded forms emerge in the moment, turning the unseen into the seen. Gaining a Masters in Fine Art opened new ways of seeing. Engaging through experiences of pedagogy, discovering innovative materials which enabled the transverse connection between memory and matter. The work has infinite interpretations for the audience. Producing something from within, is a process of self discovery. Not knowing what will emerge is the most exciting part of creating. Rules are abandoned, only the essence of a feeling remains. This is not a voluntary action, going with it seems the least resistant, even though at times, through the process of creating, it can feel the hardest. Happy to work with you on commissions. Having studied Graphic Design at College in the late 1980’s, and recently gaining a Masters in Fine Art, I have spent the last 35 years exploring new areas of portraiture, landscape oil painting, sculpture and drawing. Recently experimenting with form, shape, colour and texture culminating in abstract work. My current paintings are inspired by the landscape, my environment and places I've visited. I have evolved a technique using oils then finished with wax which highlights the textures and enhances the colours. The finished works are ready to frame. Works are either on MDF board which is between 3ml - 6ml thick or canvas frames. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity attached to the back. No work is signed on the front unless asked for at the time of purchase which I'm happy to do.
