ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Rabindranath "Rabi" Tagore was a poet, musician, philosopher, writer , painter and a teacher. His poems, stories and literature inspire inspire me every day. He is celebrated by people of West Bengal in India by adaptation of his work in theatre and movies, and by recitation of his songs daily. W.B. Yates, the Irish poet was moved and so much influenced by reading the 'Gitanjali" spiritual poems that he decided to recommend Tagore for the Nobel Prize, which Tagore was awarded a year later. Tagore's influence extended to Gandhi and others beyond. He remains rightly remembered to this day by his composition of the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh.
