ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting challenges the viewer to recall a simple truth. We all need water to survive, we all have a base desire for water. The painting aims to evoke this same desire in all viewers, thereby connecting and levelling us all. Having painted this theme before I have progressed into introducing more colour into the painting this time, yet retaining that sense of realism and detail. This painting was selected for the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology 2021: Future Now - This book showcases the work of 125 of the most exciting artists from around the world and is a dynamic guide to international contemporary art.
