Pippa Cunningham is a painter best known for her use of colour, fluidity and movement in her work. Happiest when painting in situ aiming to capture light, energy and colour into her paintings, a moment in time, creating a sense of freedom and life in the work is important to her. Travel is a major source of inspiration where she is often looking for unusual perspectives in the landscape. Having lived near the sea most of her life it is a subject that she is very often drawn to. In 2008 Pippa was commissioned to work on Louis Vuitton's Cruise Collection. Her paintings were developed into prints and designs across the range; from fashion to scarves, jewellery and leather goods. This collaboration continued in 2011 with the Ailleurs Collection of bags, acessories and prints for ready to wear. Pippa studied printed textiles and graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1994. She has undertaken commissions to do paintings for a diverse range of clients that include restaurants, the Royal Bank of Scotland, private collections and Marie Curie Cancer Care. She has exhibited in many London galleries as well as doing illustration work for magazines. Private collectors include Leslie Waddington and Paco Pena. (Photograph Vernazza Italy.
