ABOUT THE ARTWORK

These fields of red clover are the evolution of this plant that the English introduced to Menorca at the beginning of the 18th century when the island was an English colony. The clover was used to feed cows and horses and was planted throughout the island. It has been a long time since the clover stopped being planted, it was replaced by other more productive species, but it spread throughout the island into the wild, forming these beautiful fields of this special red every spring, which is a feast for the eyes.

Born on the beautiful island of Menorca (Balearic Islands) since I was little, I was curious about painting and I spent the entire recesses of primary school watching my teacher who painted outdoors while I ate my snack, the idea was floating around in my head that one day I would also paint outdoors like her. Later I used to copy and draw all my favorite comic heroes, gunfighters and so on. I made my first oil works when I was 16 years old when I bought my first paints and brushes with my savings, then as the man at the fine arts store always told me that I should do fine arts, in the end and after my military service I left from my beloved island to get to Paris (I only spoke Spanish, English and Catalan (no French) but my enthusiasm was so great that I managed to pass the entrance to the ENSBA ( (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts) ) in Paris where I studied painting for 5 years to obtain the diploma with mention of the jury. I continued living in Paris (9 years) and later moved to the Burgundy region where I painted landscapes and portraits while teaching painting classes to children and adults and raising a family. When my mother fell ill when she was older, my family and I returned to Menorca to take care of her and I am painting landscapes of the island again. I have had several exhibitions and won some awards, but for me, the important thing is to continue painting.
