ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a painting of a talented model who I knew and have worked with on other projects a number of times. It was painted during a dark period in my life battling alcohol and other addictions. The multiple layers of overlapping paint that does not correspond to the top layer are meant to highlight the things we all have inside that go past the depth of our skin. This painting took months to paint to get all the different layers and colors to melt together and give her a voice that changes depending greatly on the environment she is in and illustrates my search for beauty, meaning and the vibrance of life while in a prison of inner suffering.
